Jamie and Hok (Jazz)- The Chairman's Waltz

"The One" loves to dance while me, I love to WATCH dancing (so does "The One"). Whenever I tried to dance, I dance like a how should I say, 'wooden puppet' and will make "The One" laugh so much that I wonder if he will get nitemare hahahaha

The previous nite, we were watching the tv program, "So You Think You Can Dance". Its a dance competition in US which holds auditions across the major cities of the US, looking for the top dancers in each city. All types of dance backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Salsa, ballroom, hip hop, street dancing, contemporary, jazz, ballet and many other types of dancers can be seen auditioning for a chance to win the grand prize – which, in the past, has included a new Hybrid SUV, $100,000 in cash, and a dancing role in Celine Dion's Las Vegas show –of US$250,000 and the title of "America's favorite dancer."

This particular Jazz performance by Jamie and Hok was so AMAZING and CAPTIVATING that both of us were literally 'glued' to the TV screen for their routine. It is beautiful..

Hope you guys enjoy watching it as much as we do.

Cheerios and Keep smiling!
With Love from PoohBear

P/S The Music is from the movie, "Memories of a Geisha"-"The Chairman's Waltz" which I think is a beautiful piece too..

Hi Winnie, you say you dance like a puppet on a string, ha ha. Hey, why don't you go join Arthur Murray school of ballroom? They have specially trained dance instructors teach and guide you one one one.
After 3 weeks you can do the waltz no problemos.
Then try the Tango, very sexy dance this one, erotic too, heh heh, thats why I took it up long ago in London.
You want to slim down? Do ballroom dancing, very fast you sweat...seen that movie, "shall we dance"? Richard Gere and JLo?
I have seen "memoirs of a Geisha" 3 times, love the movie especially to see Michelle Yeoh...she sure one heck of a woman.
Keep well, Winnie. UL.

Wow... I just cannot describe the feeling watching the couple do that jazz movement.

I am still in awe of their movements. It is not easy to move like that and they only had 3 days. Wow, wow, wow... Truly captivating.

Picking up on U.Lee and Pearly, dancing is a good way to keep fit. If you love to watch dancing movies, I am sure you have seen and will like these movies:
1. Shall We Dance?
2. Dirty Dancing
3. Dirty Dancing - Salsa Nights (or something like that)
4. The Company - I think that is the title(about ballet)
5. Take the Lead (the one with Antonio Banderas)
.. just to name a few
Oh yes, there was also an Australian production, forgot the title but that movie was on ballroom dancing.

haha Uncle Lee, that was the 'mildest' way of describing my move..I'm sure its more horrible than that :P re joining Arthur Murray school of ballroom, I have to confess I'm not good at 'memorizing' steps.

I do believe everyone has their own talent and dancing is just not one of mine. I like music, I played the organ when I was younger and I was in the chinese orchestra back in school. I'm thankful that there are good dancers like hok and jamie who totally captivate me with their moves :) and bring me lots of joy.

Im sure you captivated alot of people n SYT out there with ur moves of Tango, Waltz esp ur Mrs huh :)Oh definitely Ballroom dancing is a good way of slimming down. I dont think I hv really seen much ballroom dancers who are out of shape! :)

I love watching dance movies as in the ones that j.t. mentioned (except for the 3rd one), I've seen them all! and definitely "shall we dance" by Richard Gere and JLo. Wonderful movies aint they?

I love "memoirs of a Geisha" too. Michelle Yeoh, in that role, my god..any man I mean, me even, I was so capativated by her composure, her speech, her move, the way she carries herself..she just has that air of grace about her...she sure is one heck of a woman!

you take care Uncle Lee

Great that you love to dance too..I'm sure you have a good workout just by doing housework, gardening, such good care of your family :) Oh, salsa is a sexy dance too..might be if ur derek likes to dance, u both can join the dance school and really dance a hot sexy salsa dance together! :) wont that be nice?

U have a nice weekend too and do rest well too

yeah I agree with you j.t. it definitely is a "Wow, Wow, Wow.." for us too. I cant help replaying that dance routine about 4-5 times even hehehe...isnt it so amazing how they pick up all those dance moves, that feel, all that in all of THREE days! they are amazing.

yup yup, I've seen all the movies that you mentioned, except 3. I think its "Dirty Dancing: Havana nights"? and 4. The Company (yup its about ballet and starring naomi campbell)..Others that I enjoyed include "Step Up", "Billy Elliot", "Coyote Ugly", "Center Stage"..

Ahhh..dance..they sure make me feel happy watching the moves :) such is the beauty of dance (one of the silent language of beauty)

Have a great weekend j.t.!

Oh jeesh... that is right.. Dirty Dancing - Havana Nights. I kept thinking of Salsa. haha

When I was young, I wanted to take up ballet but never could. Either my parents could not find a ballet school in Kota Bharu in the early 70s or there wasn't enough money for extra stuff. That is why I started piano lessons at 14.
A teacher/friend of my father's told him that he should consider sending me for music lessons when he can afford it. :)
I may make fun of not wanting to play the piano but actually it was because of the exams. Piano - I love, never regretted learning how to play it.

Ballet dancing is so alluring and elegant :) and the ballerinas always have such beautiful figures, long and slim like the swan..

Piano is a beautiful instrument too j.t., perhaps one day you can play for us and put it up on youtube and we can all enjoy the music you played :) I can understand what you meant..I dont like the exams too, so instead of doing once a year, one grade each year for the organ exam, told the teacher, 'can you let me do 2 grades of the exam in one year..faster lah' hahaha

have a great weekend j.t. :)
