Hi Uncle Lee, have you seen this series of W5 current affair programs? U can just click on that arrow on the 'video' and u can watch this documentary. Theres 2 parts to this

Its about immigrants coming to Canada, at the immigration interviews..the immigration officers will tell them 'oh with your experience, with your education, u will surely hv no problem of getting jobs in Canada'
and then these immigrants come over, alot of them professionals they realised they cant find jobs in their field. They will have to go to school again, sometimes 4 years to get their certs and stay in their field. There is even one immigrant couple in the documentary, the husband is a lecturer back in UK and when they came here, he send in, I think thousands of over job applications and only end up with 4/5 interviews. Finally one day, he called his wife to say he got a job..when the wife asked what job, he told her, a job sweeping floor infront of the canada place. It is so sad to hear these.

Its such a 'misleading' perception that Canada govt gave to these highly skilled professionals and 'lure' them to migrate here, and in the end u find lawyers, doctors, engineers, teachers..all these highly skilled people ended up doing manual work in this country.

Although the govt knew that this problem exist, why is it that they are not doing more to help them?

That is sad. They leave their livelihoods behind thinking they can get back into their expert fields, only to find that they have to start from scratch.

Too depressing to watch again. But thanks for the information. :)

you're welcome j.t. I'm glad the media didnt sweep the matter under the rug and is able to openly bring this matter out in the open. However, as much as they can, there is only a limit as to what they can do.

It is sad and I hope people when they migrate, they migrate with an "open eye" and the knowledge that unless ure prepared to go back to school to get urself recertified (maybe 4, maybe more)..if not, please seriously consider carefully before migrating.

Too depressing to watch again.
