Happy Birthday Singapore!

Today is the birthday of our little red dot..

Happy 42nd birthday my dear Singapore!

I woke up early today to catch the Live Webcast of our National day parade. This year it is a little different, not at the National stadium but at Marina Bay.

National day always makes me feel so close to home. For the past years, there will be a theme song. This year, the theme song is 'There's no place I'd rather be - sang by Kit Chan' (click on arrow to view the MTV of the song)

No matter where I go, I'm always proud to say I'm a Singaporean..Thats for real and for sure. No matter how far I've gone, how many places I've been, ure still the home I long to be; Where my family and friends grew up with me..U'll always be a part of me.

Once again, Happy birthday Singapore.

Cheerios and keep smiling!
With Love from PoohBear

Winniethepooh,
Did Singapore Embassy invite you to celebrate Singapore day? They do it in July 4th. The America Embassy actually invites all American to celebrate the event. My friend Matt went to the US Embassy last July in Kuala Lumpur.

BTW, Malaysia will celebrate its 50th birthday :-p I would be able to watch the fireworks from my balcony... :-)

I'm staying 23rd floor, 15-20mins from the Twin Tower without jam... If you go to my blog, the KL nite view in wide angle, is the view from my balcony... taken with my Nikon D70 + tripod :->

Uncle Lee, 10 years ago i'm not so sure...some of my hostel mates from Europe, they cant even pin point where we are. Some thought we are IN Malaysia, some thought we are IN Indonesia BUT when my American roomate told me that she thought Sg is a jungle..i almost fainted! hahaha Im definitely proud of Sg achievement :)

u have a great day Uncle Lee!

i always feel priviledge and fortunate to be born in Sg..when I see those 3rd world children no food, no home, no medical, no clothes, no shoes...I feel sad but at the same time thankful that I'm born in Sg..

Happy Belated Birthday Singapore. :)

Winnie, no matter where we go, our home is always the place where we came from.

If I were in the States and I flew the Malaysian flag, I don't think anyone would notice unless they came close to it. haha

Stranger: "uh.. excuse me ma'am, where are the fifty stars on your flag?"

hehe poohbearee..i'm not lah..when I'm in Sg, when its national day I am guilty at times too of 'running away'...life is so hetic and bz, when there's a holiday, its the only time u can really get away and have a break, isnt it? :)

I guess, its the feeling of when u dont hv it, u will learn to appreciate it :P

hope you had a great time at Redang!
