Volunteering at Toronto Island park
"The One" and I went to do volunteer work..yup volunteering to do some planting at the Toronto island sand dune. We reckon since its his off day, we might as well take the time off to do some good, volunteer and at the same time 'earn' a free ferry trip to the island :)
"The One" and I had a fun time digging and planting wild flowers in the sand dunes..except the dried thorns of a plant really pricked us..Ouchy! but nevertheless, it turned out to be a wonderful day. We roam around the island in the afternoon after the volunteering work is done. Had a little pinic, walked about the island, came to a little 'theme park' on the island (sorta like a little disneyland thingy)..
At the end of the day, we are tired and our muscles were aching, but this is one little island that we will be visiting again..till then..its off to dreamland! Both of us are 'knocking out' soon!

Jonzz, they are swan boats ride (tats why look so big huh?) hehe but there are real swans too, ducks, goose as well :) it is a nice park esp with all the greenery, very relaxing
nyonyapenang, that little theme park, the rides all for kids only..we cant ride but can just enjoy watching the kids enjoying :P it is indeed a beautiful place in spring and summer. have to catch a ferry from ferry terminal in downtown and downtown is abt a 2 hours journey by train from my place.

no lah, this is the first time hubby and I went to that island. (the ones we planted still small baby lah hahah) We were looking at the volunteer website and saw this sand dune planting on toronto island..so we go lor! :)If you're interested,next time if they (toronto bay initative) organizes planting events, I'll let you know..might be we can all go together? :)
